Internet Auction Sellers

Whether you are an internet auction buyer, seller or just a lurking observer . . . what gets your attention? For me, it's a great photo of the item up for grabs!

If you're a seller, scanner photography may be just what you're looking for. You don't have to be a professional photographer (or hire one) to get those great close-up shots! And a great close-up shot will bring you better bids!

This is a ceramic vase . . . placed directly on the glass bed of my flatbed scanner and scanned.

Bamboo vase is 12" high and 3 1/4" each side (square). The bottom of the same vase is also shown -- see how easy it is to read the mark!

Small Items?

For me, very small items were the most difficult to capture. Now, it's a breeze. This netsuke is just under 2 inches tall.

Notice the great detail on the bottom. . .

Here's another small item ready for online auctions, close-up! This tiny teapot is 3 1/2 inches tall.

Some metallic items are difficult to capture with most types of photography (including the scanner.) However, many others will be fantastic.

When you plan to sell online, try "Scanner Magic" photos for better, higher bids!
