Pictures on Cakes
The images are so personal! One of my favorite "pictures on cakes" was an orchid, presented to an orchid grower. I saw these cakes with photos at many different events and wondered "How do they do that?" A few minutes at a local bakery cleared it up and amazed me at the same time.
The answer . . . Cake decorating printers with edible paper and edible inks make edible photos! The decorative top photo is taken from an actual photo print. No need for discs or slides, just a regular picture. I couldn't help but imagine a scanner photography print on top of a cake!

A Creative Business Idea
Today cake baking and decorating are more than just family projects for the kids. They are a huge hobby with an avid following. In addition to those who create, there are those who buy!
The equipment to create 'edibles' starts as low as $400. (Includes the printer, and a starter set of edible inks and paper.) A small investment for an easy-home-business!
If you don't plan to start a business, perhaps a local bakery will convert your scanner photography prints to edible pictures. Then you place it on top of your cake and complete it with your very own decorating style.
For me, I'm glad my local bakery has both the equipment to bake and create edible Scanner Magic!
